a bit of sad news today: the vegetarian diner shangri-la will be closing its doors for good on march 13, 2011 (as reported on riverfronttimes.com). we were planning to do a review of shangri-la next weekend, but now we'll have to focus our energies on another veg-venture. in any case, we do want to make it clear that shangri-la was an awesome vegetarian restaurant, and we'll certainly miss the good folks who always made us feel so welcome. those who haven't tried, you need to get your butts over to cherokee street pronto for some vegetarian-style home cookin. be sure to try the african spinach stew. to. die. for.
