veg-friendly fryers

we've sent out a bunch of emails to local restaurants to find out which ones keep separate fryers for vegetables.  we know there are a number of vegetarians that let these things--mixed fryers, fish sauce, chicken stock--slide by, and we're definitely not trying to get on a soap box, but we know there are plenty of stricter veg folks out there wanting to know the skinny.  the responses we received were quite interesting and, at times, quite telling.  frankly, we're often shocked by the treatment we receive in email correspondence from restaurants, but in the spirit of good faith, we'll just assume some of these chefs/managers were having bad days.  as for the results, we're not exactly stunned by the paucity of veg-friendly fryers, but we did expect a few more.

(quick note: we didn't hear back from about 30% of our emails, but we'll update the list if we do hear from them.)
